National Park - Wester Ross
THE
BEINN EIGHE NATIONAL PARK.

The first National Nature Reserve of Britain, the Beinn Eighe reserve
consists of around 10,500 acres with heights reaching 3000ft. The wildlife
includes red deer, eagles and pine martin. The walk or nature trail
starts at a car park about 1 mile west of Kinlochewe and travels firstly
up through some forestry, mainly Scot's pines and opens out onto the
hillside where fine views of Slioch, Loch Maree and the Kinlochewe river
can be enjoyed. The trail almost reaches Meall a Ghiuthais at 887metres
and for the hardier of walkers the walk can be continued along the Beinn
Eighe ridge, however the nature trail itself can be comfortably traversed
in around 2hrs.
