Glen Douglas - Loch Lomond, Argyll & Bute

Three mile further up Loch Lomond from Glen Luss, just before Inverbeg, is Glen Douglas which is situated in the Argyll & Bute Council area.  To the west of Glen Douglas valley lies Loch Long and to the east it carries Douglas water to Loch Lomond at the village of Inverbeg.  The nearest villages to Glen Douglas are Doune (central) and Inverbeg, A82, which lies on the west of Loch lomond.

This glen has a road and a small path that leads through some forestry. I stuck to the road and walked about 3 miles from Lochlomondside until I reached Tullich Farm.  On the particular day in question, that was far enough, as the weather was starting to set in. I cannot stress enough that in these parts of the country if things start to look dodgy then it is time to high tail it out of there. You can always return some other day.  However 3 miles into the glen still provides plenty of visual delights.

After only 1 mile. into the glen, you have Beinn Bhreac on the right, Beinn Dubh on the left and Tullich Hill straight in front of you.  At Tullich Farm, Cnoc Coinnich will be visible some 4 miles. away on the other side of Loch Long.  I was well pleased with my venture into Glen Douglas. Glen Douglas can be traversed all the way to Loch Long which is approx. 5 miles.
