| In the village of Alva, on the A91 east of Stirling, locate Brook Street and proceed to the top of the street where you will find a car park. From the car park you can pick up the path here and go left at the first footbridge. Just follow the path which will eventually start to rise in a zigzag pattern to a viewpoint at the top. Keep following the path which is now high level, until you get back to the start..1 hour...1 - 1/2 miles. |
While the views are very picturesque over the Central belt, I witnessed a view that surprised me but made me smile. On coming upon the viewpoint on that fine Sunday morning and early as it was, a local had beaten me to it. The chap was sitting on the viewpoint bench reading the Sunday papers and as I found out, he was glad to be there with his hangover and minus his, as he called her, his nagging wife.
