The final day took me back to Moffat via the A708 and after some breakfast in the town, I made my way along the A701 for a few miles to reach the Devil’s Beef Tub. The Tub is a culmination of four hills creating a deep hollow where in days of yore was a hiding place for rustled cattle. Nearing the Tub, it is worth pulling into the few scarce lay bys in order to admire the sights along the A701. The hills and glens and forestry are awesome. |
